Roxy Music's
first album. Years ahead of its time in the first half of the 70s,
it still has the power to send chills down your spine. The first
true glam band's finest work.
If you don't
have this album you should be ashamed of yourselves. No 70's
dinner would have been complete without this one on in the background.
A Zappa album
you can play to your gran! Contains the classics "Peaches en
Regalia" and "Willie the Pimp", the only vocal track
which was a collaboration with Captain Beefheart.
The similarity
of the cover design to a famous Elvis album is no coincidence.
Compulsory listening.
What can we
say. We couldn't miss Bowie out. We couldn't decide on an
album choice but this selection of singles is a fantastic investment for
true retro listening.
May he rest in
peace. Ian Dury was an inspiration to many who have to overcome
hurdles in life. Always out of kilt with the mainstream, Dury's
music still has the power to haunt. If you don't own it then buy
it.
Forget the
rest, Zeppelin were the first heavy band and are still the best to
listen to.
Punk was great
but there was a lot of dross. We like X-Ray Spex for managing to
be musical but still be thrashy.
Raw sounds
from the street. If you haven't heard "Teenage Kicks"
yet you should buy this now. It must be good for a famous DJ to
name it as the greatest single of all time!
They have to
be there. This is a great selection of tracks.
If you can't
decide then go for the big selection. This set of music will
satisfy the most selective 70s fan.
