This Casio was my second school calculator. I needed the extended functions to assist in my A level studies. In fact, this machine served me after school at college and then in the first few years of my working life. It works perfectly now and is one of the prized pieces in my collection.

The yellow colour of the LCD gives this away as an early example of the new display type. I was keen to acquire an LCD calculator when I got this. I remember my scathing attitude towards LEDs. I also shunned the LED watches around at the time opting instead for a brick shaped Timex LCD example.

This machine was manufactured in Japan and was powered by three button cells. These gave a reasonable legnth of use so long as it was remembered to switch the machine off.

The case is brushed aluminium which seemed to be favoured for the early LCD machines made by Casio and Sharp.

It was supplied with a vinyl wallet for protection when being transported.

Like the Prinztronic M (my first electronic calculator) this Casio is prized in my collection. Also, and like the Prinz, I have never seen another one of these over the years I have been collecting.
